Helpful School Information
Moving effects the whole family and depending on where you are moving to your child may have to change schools. Every parent wants their child to get the best schooling possible and it's an important factor for your family when making the decision to move. Here some great links that will help you make the best decision for your family.
Fraser Institute
Fraser Institute is a great resource to find out how well the schools in your area are doing. They also give updates on policies and changes that would effect the school system in Canada. To find school rankings simply click on the 'School Ranking' tab located in the top menu bar, fill in the information for your location and check out their results in the right hand table. This is a useful resource because you can either check before hand what the top schools in the area you would like to move to are or ensure (by using the links below) that your child will be within the top school's boundaries or you can check the schools which your address
Peel District School Board (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon)
Peel District School Board's website has a lot of useful information for those thinking of moving or are already living in the Peel Region. For the purpose of this post we will focus on finding your school. From the home page you would go over to 'Schools' and a drop down menu will appear, you will see 'Find Your School' and click on it. You will be brought to a page where you can enter in your address and view the schools that your child would be able to attend.
Toronto District School Board (Toronto, Scarborough and Etobicoke)
Toronto District School Board has some great information for parents of children starting school shortly or are already in high school, it's worth taking a read through and seeing what jumps out at you. Once again, for the purpose of this post we will go directly to getting into school boundaries. From the home page, there is a menu in the top right of the page, the first link is 'Find Your School'. Clicking on the link will bring you to a page where you can choose from searching from you address or a school's name.
Halton District School Board (Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills)
Halton District School Board is another great resources for parents with an easy to use website. Under the 'School' tab, select 'Find My Local School' and enter in your address and the grade needed to see what schools your youngster will be able to attend.
Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (Ancaster, Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Dundas, Troy, Waterdown, Winona, Greensville, Copetown, Mount Hope, Millgrove, Flamborough, Binbrook & Carlisle)
Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is another fairly easy to use resource for parents. From the drop down menu 'Quick Links' select 'Find a School' scroll down, enter in your address and see what schools your child is eligible to attend.
